ABOUT DR. MICHAEL GRECHKO
Serving Leaders, Churches and Organisations through Strategic Mentoring and Coaching for Leadership Development & Organisational Health, Growth and Multiplication
Michael Grechko grew up in Melbourne in a Russian Orthodox home and had a radical conversion at the age of 20. Since 1981, he has studied in Bible College and Seminary, served as the Dean of Life Ministry Bible College, Senior Lecturer in Ministry at Eastern College Australia (formerly Tabor College Victoria), Pastor in Pentecostal churches, Executive Pastor at Crossway Baptist Church, Senior Minister at Berwick Church of Christ, Executive Pastor – Teaching at Neuma Church (formerly Bridge Church) and Director Pastoral Training and Development at CityLife Church Melbourne.
After completing his Bachelor of Theology at Melbourne School of Ministry (formerly Bible College of Victoria), Michael underwent doctoral studies at Denver Seminary (Colorado, USA) focussing on how to train pastors in how mentor others in ministry in areas for which they need assistance. He uses what he learned through those studies as well as 40 years in ministry to make disciples, train leaders and build organisations: primarily churches but not exclusively.
Having experienced burnout, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, Michael understands the dark places in which people find themselves and tries to provide hope and keys to the healing process to those in need of such help. He believes mature ministry is about empowering others to grow personally and develop in their ability to accomplish successfully what they are seeking to achieve. Michael loves dirt bike riding, boating, camping, working out the gym, watching movies with his family, playing golf, reading – mainly anything that helps him understand what the Bible says and what it means. He is married to Sue and has two married adult children with 3 grandchildren and another on the way.
Having been a life-long learner, Michael loves nothing more than helping others grow and mature to become what they believe they are called to be so that they can achieve the extraordinary things God has called them to achieve.
